17 June 2018 church newsletter
Please enjoy our newsletter for this week.
Hope you appreciate this weeks newsletter on the link. The sun is trying to peek through after a very windy and wet Saturday. We were very blessed and entertained last Sunday at the concert to raise funds to support the Read Family, who’s triplets have Muscular Dystrophy. We raised over $1300 towards the fund to assist this family with modifying their home to support these beautiful children who are all in wheel chairs. Congratulations to the Bonny Hills Community Church music team and to the lovely Faye Owen for a great afternoon of very entertaining music.
Our concert to raise support for the Read Triplets is at 2pm, Sunday 27 May. This special family are requiring assistance to make their home wheelchair friendly for their three beautiful children who were born with Muscular Dystrophy.
Come along and enjoy some great music and afternoon tea with friends, at 2pm, and donate to help this family along.
This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. This is the seventh Sunday after Easter. Pentecost means “fiftieth day” and is celebrated 50 days after Easter Sunday. You can read some more about this special day in our weekly newsletter which is attached. We hope you have a blessed Pentecost Sunday and you are most welcome to join us in Worship and fellowship any Sunday @ 10am in beautiful Bonny Hills.

Rev Mark D Roberts writes on his site found at: http://www.patheos.com/blogs/markdroberts/
For Christians, Pentecost is a holiday on which we commemorate the coming of the Holy Spirit on the early followers of Jesus. Before the events of the first Pentecost, which came a few weeks after Jesus’ death and resurrection, there were followers of Jesus, but no movement that could be meaningfully called “the church.” Thus, from an historical point of view, Pentecost is the day on which the church was started. This is also true from a spiritual perspective, since the Spirit brings the church into existence and enlivens it. Thus Pentecost is the church’s birthday.
Have a look at our newsletter for this week. We hope Mums can enjoy a special day for Mother’s day.
We have updated our Church sign at our building last week and it looks great!
Please join us at 10am each Sunday for great services of Worship to our God and special times with great friends.
